The Solutions

When we are facing new challenges, there’s a lot of advice out there on how to tackle them, that generally fall into three categories.

There’s the advice on Things. How to think about and handle strategies, AI, innovation, performance, technology, products, services, structure, sales, marketing – all the dimensions and components of a modern organisation. There’s always someone with advice on the right Thing to be doing which, while it has the ring of truth about it, never quite fits, because you’re handling multiple things at once, and they clash and collide in unique ways.

Then there’s the advice on People. How to find, develop and retain talent. How to work across those problematic siloes. How to engage, motivate and communicate with people. How get teams, partners, customers, suppliers connected and aligned. How to listen well, handle difficult conversations and build productive relationships. And again the advice always has the ring of truth about it, but somehow never quite resolves the persistent differences of perspective and motivation that arise.

And finally there’s the advice on your Self. How to develop yourself and your career. How to understand your personality and style, and adapt it to have more impact. How to build your resilience, presence and health. How to manage diet, exercise and mindfulness to thrive. How to be a magical leader. And it has a degree of truth in it, but somehow feels more like another recipe list than you being yourself.

What is much rarer to find (I’ve spent 30 years exploring) is practical advice on how to blend and apply all three at the same time in challenging real world situations. So you can show up as you, connect with others, and make a bigger dent in your stickiest challenges.
